1962 Gibson Les Paul SG Junior, Cherry

1962 Gibson Les Paul SG Junior, Cherry

An extraordinary example of Gibson’s early SG era craftsmanship, this 1962 Les Paul SG Junior is easily among the cleanest we’ve seen of late - an exceptionally well-preserved, near mint piece that captures the pure simplicity and character of the model’s earliest production years.

Finished in a vibrant, mostly unfaded Cherry red, the guitar retains remarkable colour depth with minimal checking or fading.

The original dog-ear P-90 is a standout: loud, raw, and wonderfully touch-sensitive, delivering everything from snarling midrange bite to warm, rolled-off vintage blues tones. Paired with the lightweight mahogany body, the guitar has a lively acoustic snap and impressive sustain, making it an inspiring player and a very intuitive and responsive example.

The mahogany neck features the desirable early-’60s medium profile which feels fast, comfortable, and great to play. Frets are exceptionally clean with no wear, and all hardware (including the wraparound tailpiece, tuners, and electronics) remains original and in superb condition. Even the headstock has ultra sharp, clean lines and all the silk screening is intact and unworn.

Finding a 1962 Les Paul SG Junior this clean is not easy. For collectors, this is a very cool piece, for players it’s one of the most resonant, responsive Juniors we've had in a long while!

Includes a non original Gibson hard case.
