1964 Fender Reverb Unit, White Tolex

1964 Fender Reverb Unit, White Tolex

Licensed to Fender from Hammond, the first units were released in 1961 and quickly became the sound of surf music, remaining in the catalog through most of the 60s and into infamy.
The unit is in reasonable cosmetic condition. The tolex has faded as you expect but there is no sign of any tears or excessive wear. Grill cloth is in good condition too as is the faceplate.
Inside, everything looks correct. The transformer is correct with a step-down transformer having been fitted for use in the UK. There don’t seem to have been any components changed.
This is the archetypal spring reverb, splashy with just the right amount of dirt. Nothing sounds quite the same as one of these, from subtle to outright outrageous.
It's been a while since we last had one of these so grab it before its washed away.
