1966 Marshall JTM-45 Script Logo

1966 Marshall JTM-45 Script Logo

One of the finest examples of an original 1966 Marshall, early script logo JTM 45 Model Plexi we have seen of late...
Where it all began. So much more than a bassman copy, this amplifier has defined the sound of British rock guitar, what more is there to say.
Cosmetically this head is in superb condition. The original Tolex is in amazing condition. The string is unbroken and the script logo is correct and unbroken. There are a few marks on the plexiglass panel but nothing major.
This one has the classic modern style knobs that are totally original and would date it to the late 1966 period. It has the tube rectifier and what appears to be the original GEC KT 66 power tubes.
The Bulgin power inlet has not been changed and the amp comes with an early power cable. We would recommend finding a more modern alternative.
Internally it is all pretty much original, the important iron works are original and even most of the valves are original or NOS replacements. Original looking RS capacitors are also there.
This is a great sounding head, which will come as no surprise I’m sure. Plenty of those classic tones on tap with enough volume to keep up.
From Marshall’s first iconic period, this would make an excellent addition to any collection or even out on the highways and byways, smoking up stages wherever it lands. If you are looking for one of these you will probably not find a nicer example...
