1969 Fender Stratocaster, Sunburst

1969 Fender Stratocaster, Sunburst

A characterful and great-sounding 1969 Fender Stratocaster in its original Sunburst finish, this one has seen plenty of honest use over the years—and has all the look, feel, and tone you'd hope for in a late-'60s player's Strat. The front of the body has faded beautifully, softening into more of a 2-tone burst, with elbow wear and edge wear giving it a genuine road worn look and a wonderful vintage patina.
The neck is dated April ’69 and features a super comfy medium D profile—full enough to fill the hand without being oversized. The rosewood fingerboard has been refretted and the nut replaced ensuring great playability. It’s one of those necks that just feels right the moment you pick it up.
Electronics-wise, the tone pots date to ’66, and the volume pot has been replaced, with some messy soldering and disturbed wiring to boot and the pickup switch is a later 5-way. But the real highlight here is the set of original grey bottom pickups—easily among the best we’ve come across. They’re punchy, rich, and dynamic, with a perfect blend of low-end warmth, upper-mid bite, and top-end cut. Whether you're laying down choppy rhythm work, expressive lead lines, or mellower cleans, these pickups do not disappoint!
As you'd expect from a Strat that’s been this well played, the overall feel is exceptional—resonant, lively, and responsive. This is one that really stands out in terms of sound, looks and feel. A superb vintage player with loads of natural wear, great looks, and an inspiring voice. For those chasing that hendrix-era late-‘60s Strat tone—look no further!
