1980 Marshall JMP 50 Master Volume, Lead 2x12 Combo

1980 Marshall JMP 50 Master Volume, Lead 2x12 Combo

A fantastic example of a British classic, this 1980 Marshall JMP 50 combo is everything players love about the transitional JMP era with its raw power, punchy midrange, and that unmistakable Marshall grind!

By 1980, Marshall had fully embraced the master volume design, giving players far greater control over gain and output levels compared to earlier non-master circuits. This makes the JMP 50 an incredibly versatile amp, capable of delivering everything from tight, articulate cleans through to rich, saturated overdrive without needing to be run flat-out. The sound is aggressive, with a midrange with plenty of bite and cut making it a natural fit for classic rock and early hard rock tones.

The 2x12 combo format offers a slightly more practical alternative to the traditional head and 4x12 setup, while still retaining plenty of low-end punch and projection. It’s a great middle ground, big enough to move air, but far more manageable in real-world gigging or studio situations. Paired with the JMP circuit, it delivers that familiar, harmonically rich crunch with excellent note separation and dynamic response.

An excellent example in very good overall condition!
