1983 Fender JV Squier Stratocaster, Fiesta Red + HSC

1983 Fender JV Squier Stratocaster, Fiesta Red + HSC

A killer example of Fender Japan’s golden era, this 1983 Fender JV Stratocaster in Fiesta Red has all the hallmarks of what makes these early reissues so desirable—vintage vibe, top-tier craftsmanship, and period-correct spec that rivals Fullerton-made reissues of the time.
This one’s neck is pencil dated 6-5-83 and features a slab rosewood fingerboard with wide-spaced dot inlays at the 12th fret. The heastock bears a non-original spaghetti Fender decal with two Pat No's. It’s fitted with an 11-hole excellent quality mint green guard made by Fat Boy Foley (no longer made) and it has retained it's original set of staggered pole, USA-made pickups with green ink pen dots and markings as seen in this period. Included is the original term arm and a Hiscox case.
They sound excellent offering a clear, chimey sound with a balanced midrange and dynamic response with the 5 way switch giving modern flexibility. The Fiesta Red finish looks great, with a nice 'orangey' undertone giving that vintage appearance without being relic’d or aged.
The JV chapter of Fender has earned serious respect among collectors and players for good reason, and at 42 years old this is an excellent option for anyone looking for excellent build quality and craftsmanship, and a more vintage feel versus newer models on the market.
