1989 Martin D-35P

1989 Martin D-35P

A lovely late-’80s example of the classic D-35, offering all the tonal characteristics that have made the model a longstanding favourite amongst the Martin catalogue, with some choice alterations for easier playability

Constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-35P delivers the classic D-35 tone, meaning strong bass response, woody mids and bright trebles. The three-piece rosewood back gives the guitar its distinctive look, while also contributing to the balanced, well-rounded tone associated with the model.

The “P” designation denotes Martin’s Low Profile neck carve, giving the guitar a slimmer, more streamlined feel in the hand compared to earlier chunkier profiles. The fretboard is a beautifully dark ebony, with pearloid dots for that classic aesthetic and beautifully smooth playing feel.

Presented in very good condition overall, with light signs of normal usage. Like many Martins from the late ’80s and early ’90s, there is some binding separation present to the rear of the upper bout caused by shrinkage. Aside from this, there are no other structural issues.

Presented in it's original moulded ABS case with documentation, this is a very tidy C.F. Martin & Co. dreadnought, perfect for those looking for the D-35 tone in a guitar with some age to it and with a more ergonomic feel.
