2020 Gibson Jimi Hendrix '67 SG Custom, Aged Polaris White

2020 Gibson Jimi Hendrix '67 SG Custom, Aged Polaris White

A Custom Shop masterpiece built to celebrate the 1967 “batwing” SG Custom that Hendrix played on The Dick Cavett Show on September 9, 1969 - one of Jimi's rare television interviews and performances. This is number 110 of 150 made - a superb, collector grade example complete with case, certificate and tags.
The Murphy Lab-aged Polaris White nitro-cellulose finish is stunning: subtle yellowing, lacquer checking and dings/wear inspired by Hendrix's original. The Mahogany neck has Gibson's 60s SlimTaper profile, long tenon, and a bound ebony fingerboard with Custom block inlays. The bound headstock sports the Custom's split diamond inlay and aged gold Kluson waffleback tuners. All hardware is gold plated and aged including the Long Maestro Vibrola tailpiece, ABR bridge, '68 Custom Humbucker covers, right down the the screws and strap buttons. The attention to detail on this model is incredible.
Controls are traditional SG: 2 volume, 2 tone, three way pickup switch, 500k CTS pots and ceramic capacitors, with the "Black Witch Hat" knobs and gold inserts.
Three Gibson ’68 Custom humbuckers provide that signature SG tone—brightly articulate, thick with sustain, and ready for anything from crisp cleans to punchy drive.
Extras include a custom Hendrix-branded truss rod cover, a replica Hendrix set of picks, a signed archival print by Eddie Kramer, and the original Hendrix SG hard case made specifically for this model.
A wonderful piece of Hendrix memorabilia and a testament to the quality of the Gibson Custom Shop and Murphy Lab team.
